Finding Gold in Old and New Chemicals

With its unique strategy for growth, KMG Chemicals has emerged as a predominant producer and worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals for niche sectors of the wood treatment, animal health and agrochemical markets. KMG has established significant market positions in mature markets by acquiring stable chemical product lines and streamlining production processes to improve product quality, stabilize supply and distribution, and enhance customer service.

But KMG is not simply in the business of repackaging existing chemicals. Our scientists look for new applications where tried and true products can perform in different fields. For example, this year we are introducing AVENGER™, the most significant development in ear tag insecticides for beef and dairy cattle in 20 years. This new insecticide ear tag represents a brand new class of chemistry never before used in animal agriculture and will be a welcomed addition for beef and dairy producers who encounter insecticide resistance with existing insecticide ear tags or need additional duration of fly and pest control.

Much of KMG's success comes from knowing what chemical products can be redeveloped into exciting, new product lines and put to work in existing and emerging markets. Our current operations are centered on the wood treatment industry, as well as the agricultural chemical market where our Rabon™ pesticide and Bueno^® herbicide brands are relieving livestock from flies and other pests and protecting crops from weeds.

Based in Houston, Texas, KMG operates a state-of-the-art, seven-acre production facility, built in 1997, along the Texas/Mexico border. Our distribution facilities are located in Matamoros, Mexico; Brownsville and Houston, Texas; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and at several contract terminals.
